Wear it whichever way you want...

peak to the front if the sun's in your eyes

peak to the rear if the sun's on the back of your neck

use the cord and toggle if it's windy so it stays on your head

When you are kayaking on choppy water, your kayak easily dips out of sight to other water users.  Your head sits much higher than your kayak, so show other watercraft where you are with a hi-vis Oi Sports Cap.

You probably wear a cap anyway to keep the sun off your head, so make it a decent one that improves your safety as well.

Dark kayak, dark paddle, dark clothing, dark PDF, and a dark hat on dark water... 

Even at first light (with the sun BEHIND the kayaker), you can still see the Oi Sports Cap.
